you know you’re not depressed when …

… you wake up from a dream about organising your dharma-study materials, see it’s 4:52am and uncontrivedly say, “Oh fuck yeah!”, because you’ve had nine hours sleep and you remember that this arrived in the post yesterday.

love or death

For a while as i was pushing through Nadgee Nature Reserve and making it, doing it, getting through it and feeling the jubilation that comes with that, i wanted to share with everyone a sentiment just like this one, which i just found on a Facebook page called Trust Your Journey:

Somebody should tell us, right at the start of our lives, that we are dying. Then we might live life to the limit, every minute of every day. Do it! I say. Whatever you want to do, do it now! There are only so many tomorrows. ― Michael Landon Jr

I wanted to encourage everyone to go out now and try doing something you would love to do but think you can’t. I think (no, i know) you will be pleasantly surprised, as i was: both times i entered these parts of our country called Australia’s Coastal Wilderness, i had vague doubts about whether i could do it; and here i am, out the other side, brimming with jubilation.

Get out there and do what you love – if you try, you might succeed … if you don’t try, you will die wondering.
